cream together:
1 cup shortening
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
add:
2 3/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
chill dough; roll into balls the size of walnuts. roll in sugar and cinnamon. bake 9-10 minutes at 400 degrees about 2" apart.
